Revegetation Working Bees

Working bees are held throughout the year on Saturday mornings from 8 to 9.30 am in winter and 7.30 to 9am in summer, followed by a home-made morning tea. These are mostly for tree planting and maintenance, and the location is advertised on roadside signs in Kuranda, Speewah and near the site on the Barron River. Advance notice is also given in the Kuranda Paper, our website calendar and our Facebook page.

Nursery Working Bees

These are currently held on Mondays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 1pm and Saturdays 10am to 12pm at the nursery on 284 Myola Rd . There, you can learn all about the rainforest trees, grasses and shrubs with experts that have years of knowledge. Volunteers can just turn up or if you want more information contact us on 4093 8989 or email us on info@envirocare.org.au. Also, the nursery is open to the public for plant sales on those days.

General Meetings

Kuranda Envirocare holds a general meeting every second month at the Kuranda Recreation Centre on Fallon road. We usually have a guest speaker at the meetings to make it more interested. that has been invited to that meeting.

Usually, business is kept to a minimum at general meetings where consensus decision-making takes place (see Rules). The guest speaker is the main attraction to encourage newcomers. Supper is provided and it is a friendly social occasion.
