Meetings

Kuranda Envirocare holds general meetings every month on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7pm, from February to November at Kuranda Recreation Centre, Fallon Rd. These meetings are mainly of a relaxed educational and environmental nature. We may have a presentation, a movie, a speaker or a discussion on topics environmental. Non-members are welcome to attend and supper is provided. The A.G.M is held in conjunction with the March meeting. A Management Committee meeting takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month, or as required. All members are welcome to attend. These meetings cover the business of the organisation and members are provided with the minutes on request. Consensus decision making will be used in meetings where possible. Strategic Planning Workshop Meeting 

On the 27 March, 2014, Envirocare members met with Terrain NRM representatives Penny Scott and Evizel Seymour for a special strategic planning workshop with members. We explored how healthy we felt about the organisation and what future direction/projects should be discussed. The first half of the meeting focussed on individual attendees thoughts on the the subject and the second half was about our vision and purpose.

As this was a pilot study to assess the merit of this type of meeting, there will be a follow-up meeting in the near future to expand on the ideas that were manifested.
