Yellow-spotted Honeyeater
Meliphaga notata 17-19 cm
Like its call, this is a noisy and aggressive bird. It is similar in colour to the Lewin’s and the graceful honeyeater. Its flight is swift and undulating, taking insects on the wing with acrobatic movements. It is common in rainforest as well as many types of terrain including cultivated lands, linear edges such as roads and gardens and often becomes tame around human habitation. |
