Symposiarchus trivirgatus sub. Sp. Melanorrhoa 15-16.5 cm
Another common insectivore of the rainforest and rapidly colonises newly planted areas. This bird actively darts about foliage and limbs with its tail fanned showing white edges on its tips. Breeds between September to February in a nest 1 – 4 m up in an upright fork or vine stems. The nest is a deep cup of thin strips of bark covered in green moss and white spider’s cacoons. |
