Our Gift Fund

A gift fund has been set up to support the work of Kuranda Envirocare, in accordance with the rules of the Australian Taxation Office. Individuals and organisations within Australia wishing to support the work of Kuranda Envirocare are eligible for tax concessions on donations made through the Gift Fund. Thousands of dollars worth of gifts (both of money and in kind) have already been made to the Kuranda Envirocare Inc Gift Fund, and are assisting us “To conserve and repair biodiversity. To educate the community to value and protect biodiversity.” (This is our ‘principal purpose’ as stated in our constitution.)

What is a gift fund?

Under Australian Tax Office rules, Kuranda Envirocare has been listed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), able to receive gifts of money and property made for its principal purpose. A gift fund can act as a conduit for passing on gifts to beneficiaries of the DGR or as a means of purchasing goods and services that the DGR uses in carrying out its principal purpose.

The gift fund must:
  • Receive all gifts of money or property made for the principal purpose.
  • Receive any money received because of such gifts.
  • Not receive any other money or property, and
  • be used only for the principal purpose of the DGR.

How to Contribute

Donations should be made payable to “Kuranda Envirocare Inc. Gift Fund”. Your contribution will be acknowledged and deposited in the Gift Fund of the organisation. See Contact Us for contact details, or to seek more information.
