Kuranda Nature Trail

Explore Kuranda - a self guide experience

​A circuit walk around Kuranda Village from the Information Centre, through rainforest, across creeks, along the river esplanade and connecting back to the Village Markets. (NOTE: stairs, unsuitiable for wheel chairs and mobility vehicles.)

Jum Rum walk - 30min 1.4km (or 1hr 2.8km return) from Kuranda Village.
Jungle walk - 20min 900m from Jum Rum to River walk. 
River Walk - 20min 750m from Jungle walk to Kuranda Village.
Full circuit - from village to Jum Rum-Jungle-River is approx 3km allow 1.5 - 2 hours. 
Note: Barron Falls Walk is 60min 2.8km and starts at Jungle walk.

Download the FREE app and be guided along the Kuranda Nature Trail through the JumRum Creek Conservation Park. The app has a map and info pins that pop up as you get to each of the features on the walk. Bursting with information about the native flora and fauna, it's a comprehensive look into this ancient rainforest area. 
Also including the History Trail, a Public Art Trail and information about the Traditional Owners, the app is a treasure chest of information.

​If the App isn't for you, grab a brochure from the Information Centre before you head off on the trail. It contains a map of the trail and some of the natural features you will encounter. Further information about Kuranda, the Djabugay people and the Wet Tropics is also included. 
Information plaques along the trail identify natural features mentioned in the brochure. Scan the QR codes on the plaques which will take you to the info pages on our website. ​
