Grey Whistler
Pachycephala simplex 14-15 cm
This common small whistler is a fly-catching bird of rainforests and neighbouring habitats. The picture shows a male, whose flanks and belly are pale yellow, back and wings olive-brown. The female’s colouring is more subdued. This Whistler does not possess the beautifully varied songs of the Rufous or Golden Whistler also found in the Wet Tropics. |
