Kuranda Envirocare has a few items of equipment and product which can be made available to members of the community.
Available for hire (with most styles of connectors available) $10 per ½ day.
Member discount applies.
Trees for revegetation (tall growers) and garden plantings (small growers) are available. We ask for a donation to cover cost of propagation. We recycle the pots so when you’ve planted return the pots so we can wash and fill them again.
Member discount applies.
For those who are revegetating in the Envirolink and Fairyland Corridors, plants are free.
Available to borrow till you catch the animal.
Please remember all native wildlife is protected including bush turkeys (sorry!).
Cats can be handed to TRC animal control staff to deal with. All trapped cats need to be treated humanely.
Available to members for use by an experienced operator (you can learn)
Useful for mowing large patches of guinea grass and weeds on relatively easy slopes or flat areas. We may be able to assist you if you can’t manage to operate the equipment.
Available on loan to members after discussion with proposed operator.
Available on loan to landholders for weed control use on their own property, managed and maintained by the Tablelands Regional council, supplied by Wet Tropics management authority.
Available for hire with an Envirocare operator for environmental work, especially for the purpose of revegetation or weed control. Hire without an Envirocare operator may be negotiated. A ripping tine is also available and recommended when doing revegetation work.
We have a small selection of specialist books and publications in our library and people are welcome to borrow them for a short while. Please contact our secretary to arrange a viewing.
Library list available.
Available for purchase, $10 including postage
Kuranda Envirocare has produced a short DVD covering the background to our area and reasons for revegetation, seed processing, potting up and nursery after care, site preparation, planting and site maintenance. It’s intended to give a broad overview with physical demonstration and explanation of the activities to induct new volunteers and conservation trainees.
Please contact Envirocare for any further information on the community support items. |
