Kuranda Envirocare holds general meetings every second month during the year. In 2007 these meetings are scheduled for February (along with the AGM), March, May, July, September, and November. Meetings are currently held on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm in the Sports and Social Club in Fallon Road, Kuranda. It is planned that the agenda for each meeting will be available in the Members section of this website some days before each meeting. The minutes of previous meetings are also available in the Members area. The Management Committee plans to invite guest speakers to each general meeting, and to keep business to a necessary minimum. Consensus decision making will be used in meetings where possible.

Working bees are held throughout the year on Saturday mornings from 8 to 9 am, followed by a great morning tea. These are mostly for tree planting and maintenance, and the location is advertised on roadside signs in Kuranda, Speewah and near the site on the Barron River. These are currently held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am throughout the day, with Tuesday the main gathering...more information.
Kuranda Envirocare is currently assisting with the approximately bi-monthly working bees organised for the Green Corridor plantings, also on the Barron River near Myola. This is an opportunity to work with a different group of people on plantings that complement our own, and to enjoy a scrumptious morning tea after. Dates are advertised in the Kuranda Paper, and the regular Saturday working bee is cancelled when the Green Corridor planting occurs. |
